Job Summary
Lead the IMAP Training Program by providing initial and recurring training, testing, and certification for responders and supervisors to ensure public safety. Direct the comprehensive Field Training Guide covering incident command, quick clearance, and field safety protocols while overseeing multi-agency collaborative training events and standardizing operating procedures. Track responder competency, manage training records, and refine standards in coordination with TSMO strategic plans. Leverage the co-located Traffic Incident Management Training Track in Raleigh for high-stress, realistic multi-agency emergency drills and provide operational support for major incidents, special events, and critical roadway impacts. Review and update standard operating procedures, guidelines, and coordination documents. Maintain training logs and develop TIM-related content for meetings, publications, and partner communications.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in a relevant field
- Equivalent qualifications attained with over 10 years of training experience in traffic operations, incident management, law enforcement, and/or emergency response
- Previous field experience in traffic operations, incident management, law enforcement, and/or emergency response
- Ability to develop training curriculum and materials to be delivered by other staff
- Demonstrated ability to focus on processes
- Ability to travel to support assessments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships
- Flexibility to support client project activities outside of normal business hours as needed
- Valid driver's license
