Job Summary
Manager-in-Training (M.I.T.) reports to District/Market Manager and is responsible for learning VIP’s management processes to lead a team, ensure safe operation, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and help implement VIP programs and standards. Responsibilities include hiring and developing a strong team, ensuring LMS and vendor trainings, certifying ASE qualifications, managing scheduling across all hours, communicating effectively through daily huddles and meetings, guiding the 5 for 5 customer-education process, dispatching work orders to technicians, and maintaining facility and equipment standards while ensuring compliance with service codes and regulations. The role emphasizes safety, training, leadership development, and operational readiness within an automotive service environment.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
