Job Summary
Manager-in-Training (M.I.T.) at VIP’s automotive location to learn leadership and management processes and to lead a team in delivering exceptional customer experiences. Responsibilities include hiring and developing a superior team, ensuring all associates complete LMS and vendor training, ensuring ASE certifications where applicable, coordinating scheduling to meet customer needs, communicating effectively with the team, overseeing customer interactions through the 5 for 5 process, dispatching work orders to technicians based on availability, attending off-site trainings, maintaining facility and equipment standards, ensuring compliance with the service Code of Ethics and all regulations, and performing additional duties as needed. The role emphasizes managing daily location preparation, safety, cleanliness, and policy administration, with a standard work week of five days and at least 50 hours per week. Essential qualifications emphasize strong people management, communications, business sense, and automotive servicing knowledge; the role requires a driver’s license and relevant ASE certifications and licenses as listed.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
