Job Summary
Manager-in-Training (M.I.T.) at VIP Automotive location in Waterville, ME, reporting to the District/Market Manager. Responsible for developing an Extraordinary Team, delivering a premier customer experience, and ensuring safety and compliance in daily operations. Responsibilities include hiring and developing store associates, ensuring LMS and vendor training completion, achieving automotive service certifications (ASE C1 required; P2/G1 recommended), scheduling to meet customer needs, communicating effectively through daily huddles and meetings, overseeing work order dispatching to technicians, maintaining facility and equipment, and enforcing the service Code of Ethics and applicable regulations. Standard work week is five days with a minimum of 50 hours; position emphasizes leadership, training, coaching, and adherence to VIP processes and standards in an exempt, salaried role.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
