Job Summary
Monitor food and labor costs to meet store goals while maintaining inventories and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and Subway standards. Schedule and assign up to 15 employees, covering shifts during high traffic and managing minor repairs or vendor notifications. Recruit, train, coach, and discipline staff to achieve financial objectives, analyze variances, and improve productivity through performance appraisals. Handle customer complaints professionally and ensure the store remains secure and compliant with legal requirements. Work irregular, long, shift-based hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a minimum of 45 weekly hours and potential emergency call-outs.
Required Qualifications
- Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager, Assistant Manager, Shift Manager, or similar role
- Proven excellent customer service experience
- Food and beverage (F&B) knowledge
- Familiarity with restaurant management software, like Point of Sale (POS) and food delivery vendors
- Tracking of expenses, pricing, and vendor relationships
- Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
- Strong communication skills, tact, and diplomacy
- Self-motivated and ambition
- Enthusiasm and the ability to learn quickly
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Results-driven approach to work
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Hold a Manager food handler permit
- Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and on public holidays
- Managers are required to work a minimum of 45 hours a week
- Incumbent is required to bend, stoop, reach, twisting, use of hands, walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Incumbent is required to lift heavy objects up to 50 on a regular basis
