Job Summary
Manager-in-Training (MIT) role at VIP’s location in Scarborough, ME focused on learning VIP’s management processes to lead a team, ensure safe operations, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and execute VIP programs and standards. Responsibilities include strong emphasis on workplace safety, developing a high-performing team, hiring and coaching associates, ensuring LMS and vendor trainings, achieving ASE certifications, scheduling across all hours, communicating effectively, coaching in 5 for 5 customer education, dispatching work orders to technicians, attending trainings, and maintaining facility and equipment standards while complying with the service Code of Ethics and applicable regulations. The position expects a 5-day work week with minimum 50 hours per week and requires leadership, communication, organizational skills, automotive servicing knowledge, and certified qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
