Job Summary
Manager-in-Training (M.I.T.) at VIP Automotive in Rockland, ME, will learn VIP’s management processes to lead a team, ensure safe operations, deliver an exceptional customer experience, and drive execution of VIP programs and standards. Responsibilities include hiring and developing a superior team, ensuring LMS and vendor training completion, achieving ASE certifications, scheduling to meet customer needs, communicating effectively, directing work orders and dispatch with the first-available technician, and participating in off-site trainings. The role emphasizes safety, policy compliance, and facility/equipment upkeep, with a standard management work week of five days and 50 hours per week. Required qualifications include automotive service management experience, relevant ASE certifications, a valid driver’s license, and state inspection licensing where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
