Job Summary
The Manager in Training provides hands-on support to the Store Manager in all store operations, including selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, scheduling, and maintaining customer service standards. Acting as an ambassador of Hibbett I City Gear, the role promotes sales and promotions, oversees store responsibilities in the Store Manager’s absence, guides employees and customers across departments, monitors inventory movement and expenses, and ensures profitability. The position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a proactive, team-oriented approach to achieve store goals and deliver exceptional customer service.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
- 1-3 years of customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
- Is a self-starter, has initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.
