Job Summary
Manager in Training program at Sonic prepares candidates for advancement to General Manager through hands-on operations experience, including supervising daily store activities, understanding and interpreting P&L, managing payroll and expenses, and driving revenue. The MIT will assist the general manager with scheduling, inventory, recruiting, training, coaching, and developing team members, enforce federal/state/local labor laws, uphold food safety standards, and contribute to community outreach to grow sales for the Drive-In and the brand. The role requires strong communication, math and analytical abilities, resilient leadership during busy periods, flexibility with hours (including weekends/holidays), and a willingness to relocate within a 45-mile radius from the home base.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of general management experience in food service or hospitality
- Associate degree in business or related field preferred
- Current certifications (e.g., ServSafe)
- Willingness to relocate to available store openings upon successful completion of training within a minimum of a 45-mile radius from home base
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks
