Job Summary
Manager-in-Training (M.I.T.) at VIP location in Lewiston, ME trains to lead a team in automotive service operations. Responsible for safety-first leadership, developing a high-performance team, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and ensuring adherence to VIP policies, LMS training, and ASE certifications. Key duties include hiring and developing associates, scheduling to meet customer needs, coaching through coaching sessions, overseeing training (including ASE certifications), managing work orders and dispatching to technicians, conducting daily communications and huddles, maintaining a clean and safe service area, and ensuring compliance with service codes of ethics and relevant regulations. Requires strong leadership, communication, organizational skills, automotive servicing knowledge, and adherence to safety and compliance standards. Typical schedule is a five-day work week with a minimum of 50 hours per week; salary-based position with exemptions.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
