Job Summary
Manager-in-Training (M.I.T.) at VIP Automotive, reporting to the District/Market Manager, to learn VIP’s management processes and lead a team to deliver safe, high-quality customer service. Responsibilities include ensuring workplace safety, hiring and developing an Extraordinary Team, ensuring required LMS training and vendor training, certifying associates (e.g., ASE certifications), scheduling to meet customer needs, coordinating communication and daily huddles, coaching staff on the 5 for 5 process and customer education, dispatching work orders to technicians, attending training sessions, and maintaining facility and equipment to safety and regulatory standards. The role emphasizes policy adherence, inter-management communication, and supporting the Service Manager to achieve performance targets. Standard work week is five days with minimum 50 hours, with emphasis on management development in an automotive service environment.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
