Job Summary
Manager-in-Training (M.I.T.) at VIP is responsible for learning VIP culture and management processes to lead a team and deliver an exceptional customer experience while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. The role involves hiring and developing a strong local team, ensuring LMS and vendor training completion, coordinating scheduling across all hours of operation, coaching and communicating with staff, driving the 5 for 5 process to educate customers about vehicle conditions and solutions, and overseeing dispatch and work order assignments for technicians. The M.I.T. also manages facility and equipment maintenance, enforces the service Code of Ethics and applicable regulations, participates in off-site trainings, and supports ongoing performance measurement and policy administration within a 5-day, ~50-hour work week. Strong leadership, communication, organizational skills, and a solid understanding of automotive servicing are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
