Job Summary
Manager-in-Training (MIT) at VIP’s automotive service location in Gorham, ME, learns VIP culture and management processes to lead a team, ensure safe operations, and deliver exceptional customer experiences. Responsible for hiring and developing a superior team, ensuring required LMS and vendor trainings are completed, guiding technicians and associates through certifications (ASE C1, P2, G1 where applicable), proper scheduling across all hours of operation, effective daily communication, and implementing VIP programs and standards. Applies safety policies, enforces compliance with service codes and regulations, and supports the Service Manager to achieve targeted performance through daily/weekly/monthly reporting. Standard work week is 5 days with a minimum of 50 hours. Requires strong leadership, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of automotive servicing.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
