Job Summary
Manager-in-Training (M.I.T.) role prepares and mentors a future automotive-services leader to execute VIP programs and standards, hire and develop an Extraordinary Team, ensure safety and compliance, and manage day-to-day operations across the location. Responsibilities include hiring and coaching associates, ensuring LMS and vendor training, ASE certifications, coordinating scheduling to meet customer needs, guiding communication through daily huddles and meetings, monitoring emails for appointments, delivering the 5 for 5 customer-education process, dispatching work orders to technicians, attending off-site training, and maintaining facility/equipment, safety compliance, and service-area cleanliness. The position requires strong leadership, verbal/written communication, organizational skills, automotive industry knowledge, and the ability to supervise a team within a service department; standard work week is five days and at least 50 hours per week. Burnished with supervisory duties, policy administration, and collaboration with management to sustain service standards and company policies.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
