Job Summary
Manager-in-Training (M.I.T.) at VIP’s Ellsworth, ME location focused on learning the culture and management processes to lead a team and deliver an exceptional customer experience. Responsibilities include learning and applying VIP safety policies, building and coaching a capable team, ensuring LMS and vendor trainings are completed, supervising scheduling, communicating with the team, training on the 5 for 5 process, and coordinating the dispatch of work orders to technicians. The MIT will help maintain facility and equipment, ensure compliance with service codes and regulations, participate in off-site trainings, and support management in achieving target performance through daily, weekly, and monthly reporting. The role requires strong leadership, communication, automotive servicing knowledge, and a valid driver's license, with related automotive-management experience encouraged and two-year college or technical program recommended.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
