Job Summary

The Manager-in-Training (M.I.T.) leads the team to deliver an exceptional customer experience by learning VIP’s culture and management processes, preparing to lead associates and ensure safe operations, scheduling, training, and coaching to meet customer needs. Responsibilities include hiring and developing a capable team, ensuring LMS and vendor trainings, verifying ASE certifications, coordinating proper scheduling across all hours of operation, training and supporting staff in the 5 for 5 process to educate customers about vehicle conditions and required solutions, routing work orders to technicians based on first-available capability, attending off-site trainings, maintaining facility and equipment, enforcing the service Code of Ethics and regulatory compliance, and performing other duties as required. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and automotive industry knowledge are essential, as is the ability to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant service environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Two years related experience in automotive service management
  • Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
  • ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
  • ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
  • ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
  • State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
  • Equipment Safety Certification
  • Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
