Job Summary

Manager-in-Training (M.I.T.) at VIP, Augusta, ME, will learn VIP’s management processes to lead a team and deliver exceptional customer experiences. Responsibilities include hiring and developing a capable team, ensuring safety compliance, coordinating LMS and vendor trainings, ensuring ASE certifications for staff, proper scheduling to meet customer needs, communicating effectively through daily huddles and store meetings, monitoring e-mail for appointments, educating customers about vehicle conditions and solutions, and managing dispatch of work orders to technicians. The role requires strong people leadership, the ability to enforce the service Code of Ethics and regulatory compliance, and facilities/equipment oversight within a busy service location. Typical schedule includes a 5-day work week with minimum 50 hours, and previous automotive service management experience is essential.

Required Qualifications

  • Two years related automotive service management experience
  • Completion of a two-year college or technical school program recommended
  • Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
  • Equipment Safety Certification (certification required)
  • ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
  • ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
  • ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
  • State Inspection License required where applicable
