Job Summary
Manager-in-Training (MIT) at VIP, based in Arundel, ME, is a salaried exempt role responsible for learning VIP’s management processes and leading a team to deliver exceptional customer experiences while ensuring safety and compliance. The MIT will hire and develop a superior team, manage LMS and vendor training, ensure ASE certifications and required licenses for staff, properly schedule the team to meet customer needs, facilitate daily communication and huddles, oversee dispatching of work orders to technicians, participate in off-site trainings, and uphold service standards and the code of ethics. The role emphasizes safety as priority, facility and equipment maintenance, and coordination with management to achieve target performance through daily/weekly/monthly reporting. Required qualifications include automotive service management experience, relevant ASE certifications (C1 required), applicable state inspection license, a valid driver’s license, and strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
