Job Summary
Lead the Data Visualization Explorations team within Datadog's Graphing organization, setting product direction, coaching and developing engineers, and staffing projects to build end-to-end data experiences for core users. Drive cross-team collaboration, design best practices for dashboards, notebooks, and widgets (e.g., Hostmap and Geomap Visualizations), and translate customer needs into actionable features. Partner with Product Management and Design to plan initiatives, mentor engineers across levels, and maintain telemetry-driven performance insights. This role operates in a hybrid environment with in-office hubs in Boston and New York and remote work options in Texas.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of people management experience in a software engineering or similar setting
- Strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills, including familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React
- Excellent communication skills, including delivering clear, actionable, and empathetic feedback
- Product-oriented: you put solving customer problems first and know how to ship features quickly and iterate on them
- Passionate about data visualization and building intuitive, performant user interfaces
- Demonstrated sense of ownership over your team's work
