Job Summary
Manager HRIS at MTA Headquarters responsible for the HRIS/PeopleSoft system within HR. Leads the HRIS Unit to maintain and update setup tables (e.g., Job Codes, Locations, Positions, Salary Plans/Grades/Steps), collaborates with Compensation to ensure accurate entry of salaries and compensation data, maintains knowledge of PeopleSoft HR record structures, solicits input from internal/external customers for reports and enhancements, works with Financial Management on headcount and budgeted vs actual data, coordinates with IT Security to test program changes and validate data processes, provides coaching and training to HR personnel, reviews data for accuracy, analyzes HRIS data via queries, develops specifications for changes or custom reports, generates ad hoc reports, updates HRIS SOPs, announces procedural changes, and ensures adherence to MTA policies. Travel may be required; occasional after-hours work expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of general business experience, of which at least four were at a professional level in a Human Resources role.
- Basic understanding of all facets of Human Resources functions.
- Effective working knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM modules and tables, Microsoft Office and other major spreadsheet programs.
- Must be detail-oriented and accurate with work.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Able to handle sensitive situations and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- May need to work outside of normal work hours (i.e., evenings and weekends)
- Travel may be required to other MTA locations or other external sites.
