Job Summary

Develop and maintain a comprehensive Health & Safety program across multi-site advanced manufacturing facilities, overseeing policies, risk assessments, audits, and emergency response plans. Lead the implementation of Safe Work Practices, machine guarding, and lockout/tagout protocols while managing SDS and WSIB claims. Conduct regular inspections, investigate incidents, and ensure safety committees meet OHS requirements. Collaborate with external stakeholders, government inspectors, and contractors to align safety standards and represent the organization at stakeholder meetings. Proactively identify risks and promote safety initiatives across manufacturing and construction sites, including travel to GTA facilities and active factory floors.

Required Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in occupational health & safety
  • 5-7 years of progressive health and safety experience, including at least 2 years leading a safety program or team
  • Experience leading health and safety in advanced manufacturing facilities featuring a high degree of automation and robotics, including working knowledge of machine guarding, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and industrial robot safety standards
  • Expert knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Working knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and return-to-work processes
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience coaching and mentoring teams
  • Experience investigating, documenting, and reporting workplace incidents and accidents
  • Experience building a health & safety program from the ground up
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Adaptable and self-motivated, able to build consensus and work effectively both independently and with diverse teams across changing environments
  • Willingness to travel regularly between Stelumar's GTA facilities and active construction sites, and to spend significant time on an operating factory floor in required PPE
