Job Summary
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts to minimize legal exposure while preparing conditions precedent for major international agreements. Manage and monitor all litigation and dispute resolution matters in Sri Lankan and overseas forums, liaising with external counsel, attending hearings, and producing evidence. Protect intellectual property rights by registering trademarks locally and internationally, and maintain in-house case files for all legal matters. Provide day-to-day advice to internal departments on statutory compliance and contractual obligations, and attend to all conveyancing requirements. Monitor claims by and against the Group to defend against filed claims and recover monies due. Keep abreast of developments in Aviation, Commercial, Corporate, and Labour laws, reporting on regulatory updates from IATA and ICAO.
Required Qualifications
- Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka
- Bachelor's degree in law from a recognized university
- 10 years of post-qualifying experience
- Minimum of 05 years at Managerial level in a reputable law firm or as an in-house corporate counsel in a reputable organization
- Sound experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts
- Sri Lankan Citizen
