Job Summary
Manager, Cloud - GCP responsible for leading design and implementation of Google Cloud Platform infrastructure using Terraform, building secure hybrid cloud integrations between on-premises and GCP, and enabling scalable data platforms (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub). Drive AI/ML initiatives with Vertex AI, implement security controls and IAM/RBAC, and design CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Google Cloud Build). Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring reliability, performance, and cost optimization across the GCP environment. This role requires collaboration across teams, strong cloud architecture skills, and travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum five years of recent Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or equivalent cloud systems development experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
- Experience in designing cloud architectures and implementing production infrastructures and applications in one or more of the following cloud environments/technologies: GCP using infrastructure as code approach; experience in developing data and analytics platforms on cloud; experience with cloud native container technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Docker; experience with Terraform, Ansible, Chef and Puppet
- Basic software development skills/experience; scripting experience; Unix/Linux environments; source code management (Git, SVN); ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members
- Strong understanding of networking, identity management, monitoring, logging, vulnerability management; security concepts, authentication, authorization, encryption, PKI; IT operating models and processes; experience hardening infrastructures & systems; developing highly available & scalable systems
- Ability to travel as required
