Job Summary
Manage key private equity and fund of funds client relationships, overseeing capital activity, waterfalls, financial reporting, and audits. Review governing documents to ensure accurate fund term application, then oversee transaction activity including capital calls, distributions, accruals, and valuation adjustments. Prepare workpapers, capital account statements, and management fee calculations while building distribution waterfall models. Coordinate the year-end audit process with clients and auditors, support tax reporting, and lead junior staff through goal setting, coaching, and performance reviews to ensure high-quality delivery across complex, deadline-driven engagements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 7+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on alternative investment funds – private equity experience/fund of funds
- 2+ years of management/supervisory experience
- Team player mentality with the ability to work independently
- Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other comprehensive basis of accounting, with an emphasis on investment partnerships
- Experience supervising one or two junior professional staff
- Provide significant input into hiring and termination decisions as well as providing continuous performance feedback to staff
- Hands-on management style with strong leadership skills and ability to develop junior staff
Desired Qualifications
- CPA designation a plus
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to multi-task
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills
- Sungard Investran experience a plus
