Job Summary
Manager, Fraud and Scams Advisory in WIB FCF BCM (Merchants) leads end-to-end fraud risk oversight across AML/CTF, sanctions, fraud and scams, and anti-bribery and corruption. Partners with senior leaders to deliver strategic initiatives, support governance forums with risk papers and recommendations, and embed fraud and scams risk management into frontline decision making within a hybrid role based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane. The role sits in the Westpac Institutional Bank’s Financial Crime and Fraud team, working with Product, Fraud & Scams Operations, Fraud Analytics, and Group 1LOD/2LOD Risk teams to identify, manage and mitigate fraud and scam risks aligned with Group frameworks and regulatory expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in fraud and scams risk within financial services
- Deep expertise in fraud typologies and emerging risks
- Experience supporting governance forums with risk papers and actionable recommendations
- Strong track record managing fraud and scam incidents including root cause analysis, issue remediation, and breach handling
- Experience with regulatory change initiatives and audit engagements in financial crime or risk
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across business, operations, and risk teams
