Job Summary
Manager – Force Account provides administrative, analytical, and project support for Force Account construction activities across the Metro-North Railroad service territory, including coordination, documentation, scheduling, and communication with stakeholders, and participation in biweekly CTDOT service meetings. Responsibilities include coordinating contractor outages and entry permits, verifying contractor insurance, handling submittals and CTDOT design documents, distributing reviews, drafting responses, reviewing monthly pre-bills and invoices, tracking CTDOT funding, maintaining cost sheets, and managing large volumes of documents. The role also involves developing schedules/CPMs, budgeting, coordinating with Procurement & Material Management, and providing management reporting on performance and financials. The position requires strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, familiarity with railroad operations and CTDOT procedures, and willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Engineering, Program/Project Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Demonstrated equivalent education, experience or technical credentials to include four (4) additional years may be considered in lieu of degree
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction management and/or construction projects to include monitoring of budget and schedules
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing a process and/or project
