Job Summary
Design and integrate multi-source data pipelines to aggregate diverse datasets into a layered public health surveillance architecture supporting real-time ingestion and secure interoperability. Apply advanced statistical methods and machine learning to identify emerging health conditions, forecast risk trajectories, and generate actionable alerts for public health stakeholders. Serve as the quality assurance lead for data linkage to external administrative and clinical sources including EHR, CMS, and NY SPARCS. Oversee day-to-day activities for the Translational Epidemiology subunit, manage grant deliverables, and supervise research staff and interns. This role supports the World Trade Center Health Registry's mission to monitor health impacts on over 71,000 persons exposed to the September 11, 2001 disaster within the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological or environmental science or in public health
- Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and one year of full-time experience in a responsible supervisory, administrative or research capacity in the appropriate field of specialization
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and three years of responsible full-time research experience in the appropriate field of specialization
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to the doctorate option or the master's plus three years option
- At least a master's degree in an appropriate field of specialization
- At least two years of experience described as responsible full-time research experience in the appropriate field of specialization
