Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and direct purchasing, food planning, preparation, and serving while maintaining sanitary standards across kitchen, serving, and dining areas. Coordinate with dietitians and clinical leadership to develop varied, nutritionally balanced menus and interpret recipes and modified diet plans for proper portion control. Manage staff through hiring, development, training, performance management, and communication to ensure effective department operation. Analyze food costs and assist with budget issues while orienting and coaching team members on operational guidelines and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Four of more years' experience in food services role
- 2+ years' experience in a supervisory capacity in food services
- ServSafe Certification or similar food safety certification, where required by the state and facility
- Required completion of the coursework and a passing score on the examination for Certified Dietary Manager, or be in the active pursuit of license/certification, where required by the state and facility
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management, Human Nutrition or related field
