Job Summary
Own the operational lifecycle of payment processing across HPS, PayMedix, and TempoPay, including payment execution, settlement, returns, exceptions, reconciliation workflows, and money movement while improving scalability and automation. Establish and own the collections operations strategy across PayMedix and TempoPay, defining workflows, customer segmentation, and escalation paths to drive operational excellence with the BPO team. Manage day-to-day relationships with payment processors, banks, and vendors by defining SLAs, measuring performance, and resolving operational issues. Develop operational dashboards providing visibility into payment performance, reconciliation accuracy, and collections effectiveness, partnering with Finance, Product, Engineering, and Compliance to modernize infrastructure. This role reports to the COO and follows a hybrid schedule of 2–3 days in the Milwaukee office, with remote options available outside Wisconsin.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in payments operations, financial operations, fintech, banking, or payments infrastructure, with deep expertise in ACH, card payments, settlement, reconciliation, ledgering, and end-to-end money movement
- Proven experience owning and scaling payment operations, including reconciliation, payment exceptions, refunds, reversals, financial controls, and operational process improvements in high-volume environments
- Strong cross-functional leadership with experience partnering across Finance, Product, Engineering, Compliance, Customer Operations, and external payment vendors such as BPOs, processors, sponsor banks, and gateways
- Highly analytical and operationally driven, with a track record of improving payment accuracy, resolving reconciliation issues, developing KPIs and reporting, and building scalable, efficient payment operations
- Hybrid if you're in Milwaukee, otherwise fully remote is available
