Job Summary
Manager, Financial Markets within Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) Financial Crime and Fraud team. Oversees end-to-end FC risk across AML/CTF, sanctions, fraud and scams, and ABC; collaborates with front-office traders, sales, product managers, operations, and FCC to embed risk controls while enabling business growth. Role involves conducting FC risk assessments for financial market activities (FX, derivatives, commodities, fixed income) and ensuring effective risk management within the first line of defence. Hybrid working model in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in financial crime risk within financial markets (FX, derivatives, commodities, fixed income)
- Ability to identify and mitigate financial crime risks across trading, sales, and capital markets
- Experience partnering with front office teams, providing practical risk guidance
- Knowledge of AML, sanctions, ABC and market abuse frameworks
- Experience reviewing high-risk clients, transactions and counterparties against risk appetite
- Strong stakeholder management across front office, operations, compliance and FCC
