Job Summary
Partner with plant and functional leaders to translate business priorities into practical people strategies that strengthen safety culture and support reliable execution. Serve as an active member of the Plant Leadership Team to drive site priorities including safety performance, operational discipline, and workforce capability. Coach supervisors and managers on performance management, conflict resolution, and team development while championing a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Lead employee relations matters, investigations, and disciplinary actions with fairness and consistency. Assess talent needs, strengthen succession planning, and support recruitment for key leadership and technical roles. Provide guidance on employment law, labor relations, and compliance while balancing business needs with risk management. Use data and metrics to diagnose workforce issues and recommend actions that improve organizational effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Management, Business, Psychology or a related field
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in Human Resource Management
- Knowledge of state and federal laws and requirements
- Able to travel up to 25% of the time between Houston and Port Neches, TX sites

- Knowledge of an HRIS and other HR talent management systems
- Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills
- Able to work on a broad variety of projects
- Strong business skills outside of the Human Resources discipline
- Exercises effective judgment, sensitivity and creativity to changing needs and situations
- Experience working in a petrochemical plant or oil refinery and union environments
- Tactfully dispenses direct and actionable feedback; deals head-on with people problems and prickly situations
