Manager, Facilities Operations - Solar Cell Factory (Starlink)

Job Summary
Lead daily operations of SpaceX's central utility plant, gas farm, chemical systems, and wastewater treatment infrastructure to enable 24/7 solar cell manufacturing, ensuring uninterrupted supply to production lines. Oversee high-purity gas/chemical procurement, storage, distribution, and delivery; maintain precise cleanroom conditions through building systems (HVAC, power, plumbing, exhaust); develop preventative maintenance programs, procedures, safety training, and emergency plans; coach and develop a facilities team in a high-reliability environment. Collaborate with Production, Machine Maintenance, and EHS to troubleshoot, integrate new processes, and support factory expansion; track KPIs for uptime, utility costs, and environmental compliance; drive cost-efficient, sustainable operations while meeting OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and local codes. Requires ability to travel internationally (20%), stand for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, work in industrial environments with hazards, and work varying shifts including extended hours/weekends. ITAR compliance is required for eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM discipline; OR 5+ years of experience leading facilities/utilities operations
- 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing/operations environment
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership position
- Experience managing central utility plants, gas/chemical systems, and/or general facilities
