Manager, Facilities Operations Commissioning

Job Summary
Lead and oversee regional commissioning activities for facilities operations in data-center environments. Responsible for managing commissioning teams, developing capabilities, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and operating standards, overseeing travel budgets, and coordinating with QTS project departments to ensure system design, installation, and testing meet operational requirements. Direct Cx Engineers to witness equipment testing, validate sequence of operations, and ensure receipt of all operational documentation. Revise commissioning plans for multi-level systems (Level 1–5) across Electrical, Mechanical, and Building Automation components. Identify and resolve issues during commissioning, drive continuous improvement, develop SOP/MOP/ERP procedures with site teams, and lead multiple commissioning teams through various stages. Demonstrate fluency with data-center critical and construction environments; formulate technical strategic plans; optimize reliability and reduce operating costs. Possess advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment (UPS, generators, switchgear, PDU, VFDs, CTs, chillers, CRAHs, economizers), emergency backup systems, and building subsystems (monitoring controls, life safety, access controls, CCTV). Experience with project management and commissioning software; ability to manage teams and deliverables across multiple sites, with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance (OSHA, electrical codes), and staff development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional experience
- Five or more years of direct engineering-related experience in a technical or critical environment (data center, nuclear/electric power, hospital, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, industrial/commercial field engineering)
