Job Summary
Manager, Events Management responsible for in-person and hybrid Society conferences and assigned meetings. Primary duties include development and management of events, site selection and contract negotiations, bid evaluation from suppliers for facilities/food/bev/equipment/travel/lodging, and logistics coordination (transportation, hotel specs, banquet orders, guest tours, special events). Manage registration and oversight of contractors/subcontractors; coordinate planning, production and marketing of promotional literature; provide on-site conference management and post-event evaluations; develop and review marketing plans; manage budgeting, accruals, and invoice reconciliation; maintain event databases and liaise with planning committees and related suppliers; coordinate advertising, sponsorship, and exhibits. Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the meeting planning industry with association experience as a plus. This role is eligible for a remote work arrangement with periodic travel. Competencies include communication, relationship management, problem solving, project management, budgeting/financial management, contract negotiations and management.
