Job Summary
Lead and manage the EHS department, overseeing hiring, coaching, performance management, and employee development. Conduct safety inspections to identify workplace hazards and assist in accident investigations by analyzing root causes and implementing preventative actions. Serve as the primary liaison for employees, managers, customers, auditors, and regulators while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Collaborate with real estate, facilities, operations, and engineering teams to guide safe behaviors and manage hazardous waste handling, labeling, and storage. Recognize and enforce requirements for hazard communication, fall protection, respiratory protection, lockout/tag-out, machine guarding, and emergency response.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience implementing and overseeing environmental, health and safety programs
- Experience leading teams
- Experience in Cal/OSHA
- Experience in 40 CFR Parts 260-279 Hazardous Waste Management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective at engaging with leadership, regulators, front-line staff, and third-party partners
- Capability to manage multiple activities/projects and deadlines
- U.S. Person status
