Job Summary
Manager, Engineering Projects leads the strategic program and project management function for Engineering capital projects and operating programs, providing leadership, mentorship, and ensuring safety across project activities. Supports the County’s Asset Management program and master servicing plans for transportation and utilities to enable long-term, effective service delivery and project management. Requires coordinating with Engineering Services, delivering in-person work at Parkland County Centre with occasional field locations, and supporting a hybrid work arrangement with an option of one remote day per week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources or related Municipal Services field supplemented with formal leadership training
- Professional Engineering (P. Eng) designation with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)
- Minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years of relevant experience, including demonstrated in-depth and progressive technical expertise overseeing capital project management functions, preferably in a municipal environment
- Experience in a supervisory and project manager capacity with a proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams
- Diverse knowledge of engineering practices and the ability to communicate effectively and work through contentious situations
- Local Government Management Certificate and Project Management Professional Designation are considered assets
- A valid class 5 driver’s license and current, satisfactory driver’s abstract provided upon hire
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required upon hire, excluding candidates under the age of 18 and current Parkland County employees
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- On-site presence with option for one remote day per week
- Starting Salary of: $133,800 to $150,500 per year; Max Salary Potential: $169,300 per year
