Job Summary

Lead and develop engineering teams to ensure operational excellence across manufacturing facilities, overseeing new product introductions, equipment optimization, and process improvements. Drive continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, and innovation by collaborating with cross-functional teams including R&D, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve technical issues and implement effective engineering solutions. Manage capital equipment specification, procurement, and implementation while applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce costs and enhance production capabilities. This role requires an advanced degree plus six years of experience in manufacturing engineering within regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals or medical devices. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in cGMP regulations, statistical process control, and data-driven problem-solving, with a track record of mentoring talent and working in cleanroom environments. Travel of 0-25% is required for project support and site collaboration.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in regulated industry (pharmaceutical, medical device, or high-tech manufacturing)
  • Expertise in cGMP regulations, quality systems, and industry standards
  • Strong project management capabilities to lead cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience with statistical process control, FMEA, DOE, and other quality tools
  • Proficiency in developing and optimizing manufacturing processes and documentation
  • Track record of implementing continuous improvement and cost reduction projects
  • Ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop data-driven solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across all levels
  • Experience with capital equipment specification, procurement and implementation
  • Knowledge of automation, Industry 4.0, and digital manufacturing technologies
  • Ability to work in cleanroom environments when required
  • Travel required (0-25%) for project support and site collaboration
  • Proficiency with engineering software, MS Office, and manufacturing systems
  • Ability to maintain professional focus in challenging situations
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and environmental compliance
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
  • Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed
  • Cold Room/Freezers -22degreesF/-6degrees C
  • Laboratory Setting
  • Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery)
  • Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)
  • Various outside weather conditions
  • Will work with hazardous/toxic materials

Desired Qualifications

  • Preferred Fields of Study: Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field)
  • Professional certifications (PE, PMP, Six Sigma) highly valued
  • 2+ years of people management/leadership experience is preferred
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies preferred
