Manager Engineering - Electrical

Job Summary
Establish and lead the Electrical Engineering team at GEC Pune, from recruitment and onboarding to setting standards, processes, and continuous improvement. Deliver high-quality electrical design and power-system analysis for modular building projects globally, integrating electrical with mechanical, structural, and fire protection disciplines. Drive design standardization, tool adoption (Revit, AutoCAD, EPLAN, Dialux, ABB e-Design, Schneider Ecodial), and KAIs such as load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, and PUE, while coordinating with global stakeholders and ensuring compliance to IEC/IEEE/NEC/BS/NFPA and other international standards. Lead cross-functional collaboration, drive capability building, mentorship, and succession planning, and maintain strong engagement and performance through structured onboarding, performance reviews, and career development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering (BE) / Bachelor of Technology (BTech) – Electrical Engineering OR Master of Technology (MTech) – Power Systems / Electrical Engineering OR MBA General Engineering
- 15+ years of progressive experience in electrical design engineering (power systems, MV/LV distribution, data centre infrastructure)
- minimum 4+ years in a team leadership or management role
- English language – Fluent
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) / Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) – Electrical Engineering or MBA General Engineering
- 15+ years of progressive experience in electrical design engineering (power systems, MV/LV distribution, data centre infrastructure)
- 4+ years in a team leadership or management role
- Fluency in English
- Experience with modular buildings, data centre infrastructure, critical power systems
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP, Dialux (lighting calculations)
- PMP and/or Six Sigma certifications (desired)
- Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NEC, BS, NFPA, ASHRAE and related international electrical standards
- Strong people management, mentoring, and coaching skills
- Capacity planning, resource management, and stakeholder management
- Project/program management capabilities
- Leadership, strategic thinking, independence, attention to detail, problem solving, organization, teamwork
- Ability to coordinate across time zones and cultures
- Willingness to travel 40-50% (international sites)
- Experience in capacity planning and resource management
- Experience in design-for-manufacturability collaboration with mechanical/structural/fire protection domains
- Automation and digital engineering practices exposure
- Knowledge management and lessons-learned repositories
