Job Summary

Promote a safe physical and emotional environment for youth and young adults while ensuring the Engagement Center remains adequately staffed for daily operations and projected events. Recruit and onboard new teammates, then support and develop services that stabilize their lives through a youth-centered approach. Collaborate with partners and internal teams to collect participant data, analyze community environments, and incorporate feedback into service design. Manage facilities readiness with Operations, debrief at end of drop-in hours, and oversee safety protocols including phone trees and risk mitigation. Guide the performance and development of Shift Leaders and Youth Engagement Specialists while researching culturally-centered interventions aligned with the Pua Liliʋ framework.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education, human/social services, or another relevant field
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience
  • At least 2 years experience in planning, implementing, directing youth programs
  • Knowledge of best youth practices (positive youth development and others)
  • The ability to selfcare and work with the most vulnerable population
  • 3 to 5 years of experience managing and developing teammates
  • Experience managing and engaging diverse personalities, schedules, and responsibilities
  • Ability to interact effectively with youth, community partners, and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of community resources and services
  • Experience working with at-risk youth
  • Understanding and appreciation of Queen Liliuokalani's story, her legacy and the Hawaiian Culture
  • Demonstrates respect for and appreciation of Hawaiian values history, and culture
  • Ability to lift 25lbs pounds
  • Requires frequent sitting, bending, standing
  • Performs light physical work, including climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Exposed to outdoor climate and diverse terrain
