Job Summary
Manage a sustainability program to achieve savings while contributing to environmental protection, fostering energy-efficient practices across the organization. Provide technical leadership to operations staff and oversee project management for mechanical and electrical systems, including the future 8MW GTG Cogeneration plant. Direct energy monitoring, verification, reporting, auditing, and procurement activities, while developing an online real-time metering solution. Collaborate with energy management partners to create conservation and infrastructure improvement measures, and apply for relevant financial incentives. Promote Ontario's "3Rs Program" through waste and transportation initiatives. Develop communication strategies and present information to internal groups, and write articles, newsletters, and award submissions. Liaise with NRCan, Greening Healthcare, O.H.A., CHES, and healthcare facilities to advance best practices. Requires a post-secondary degree, Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification, and expertise in HVAC, building automation, and project management.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in related field of study
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED and/or other related qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in energy conservation practices, ideally in a healthcare setting
- Strong technical background in building systems, including HVAC, GTG CHP, building automation systems, lighting, motors, speed drives
- Understanding of applicable building codes and standards
- Energy project management experience
- Experience in the development of multi-media communication strategies, including: posters/display material, web-pages, audio/video presentations
- Advanced knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Publisher and AutoCad
- Demonstrated creativity, organizational and analytical skills
- Outstanding communication skills
- Able to utilize a number of different communication mediums and be sensitive to the impacts of each so that the right combination of medium/message is used
- Demonstrated experience as a public speaker
