Job Summary
Senior eDiscovery Technology Manager responsible for leading the firm’s technical eDiscovery capabilities across all phases of the EDRM. Serves as the primary hands-on Relativity One expert (administration, configuration, analytics, processing, productions, performance, troubleshooting) and provides advanced consultation on metadata integrity, search methodology, privilege screening, and defensible workflow design. Oversees secondary platforms as needed, manages modern data sources (M365/Purview, Teams, Slack, Zoom, WhatsApp, Google Workspace, Salesforce, mobile data, cloud repositories), and automates workflows using Relativity scripts, PowerShell, or Python. Guides case teams and attorneys on defensible EDRM workflows, kickoffs, and technical alignment with legal strategy; designs complex search, analytics (email threading, near-duplicate detection, clustering, TAR/CAL), and defensible validation. Maintains quality control of processing, review sets, and productions with rigorous defensibility documentation. Partners with vendors, develops SOPs and knowledge articles, delivers training, and drives technology innovation while staying current on legal tech trends and regulatory expectations. Requires 7+ years of eDiscovery experience with hands-on Relativity One expertise; strong stakeholder communication skills; PMP or related project management training and a preference for JD or advanced degree.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Legal Studies, or related discipline (or comparable experience)
- 7+ years of hands-on eDiscovery experience, including 3+ years supporting a major law firm (AmLaw 100 preferred) or enterprise-level corporate legal department
- Advanced, demonstrable expertise with RelativityOne administration, analytics, processing, productions, performance, and troubleshooting
- Proficiency with AI-assisted review (TAR/CAL) and advanced analytics workflows
- Familiarity with one or more additional platforms (Reveal, Everlaw, Nuix, Logikcull, etc.)
- Ability to automate or enhance workflows using scripts or APIs (PowerShell, Python, Relativity scripts)
- Strong understanding of FRCP, defensibility, chain-of-custody, privacy/compliance frameworks, and complex eDiscovery documentation
- Exceptional communication and the ability to guide attorneys and stakeholders through high-pressure, technical challenges
