Job Summary
Lead the Commercial Analytics team within Chevron's Supply & Trading; drive analytical strategy for global trading operations by overseeing market-fundamentals analysis, pricing structures, trade flows, and competitor activity to inform trading strategies and unlock opportunities. Partner with analysts and traders across Houston, San Ramon, Singapore, and London to align on arbitrage strategies, supply/demand modeling, and market positioning. Advance analytical capabilities with deterministic and dynamic models, champion digital tools including machine learning and predictive modeling, and embed quantitative risk management into trading decisions and exposure strategies. Drive continuous improvement through lookbacks and refinement of forecasting approaches. Requires a Bachelor's degree and 7+ years in energy trading/analytics plus 2+ years of people leadership; strong communication and collaboration skills; prefers Master’s degree or MBA and proficiency in Excel, Python/SQL, and visualization tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Applied Math, Data Science, or related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience in energy trading, commodity markets, or commercial analytics
- Minimum 2 years of direct people leadership or team management experience
- Strong commercial judgment with the ability to translate complex data into actionable, trade-relevant recommendations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present market insights clearly to influence decisions at all levels
- Collaborative leader who thrives in a fast-paced, global trading environment with a digital-first mindset and passion for innovation
