Job Summary
The Manager, Direct Procurement - Planning & Analytics leads the direct materials procurement planning and analytics efforts. Key duties include driving internal MRP for direct materials, developing and tracking KPI/reporting, conducting spend and trend analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities, managing supplier performance, and driving process improvements. Responsibilities include ensuring material readiness, optimizing inventory levels based on forecast and lead times, supporting cross-functional teams with procurement needs, developing procurement strategies and reporting to senior management, and leading or contributing to special projects. The role emphasizes data-driven recommendations, stakeholder relationships, and continuous improvement to achieve cost efficiencies and on-time delivery in a hybrid in-office setting (1-2 days/week in River North, Chicago).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred
- 5+ years in procurement or related analytical fields (finance, planning, etc.)
- Direct Procurement experience preferred
- APICS or Supply Chain Certification is preferred
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems preferred
- Strong analytical skills
- Hands-on experience in cost reduction, supplier performance management and inventory reduction
- Ability to work independently or in teams with professionalism and integrity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel up to 15%
