Job Summary
Identify, cultivate, and thank donors to secure major gifts of $25,000+ through high-volume outreach via visits, calls, and personalized communications. Build relationships by conducting prospect research, developing stewardship plans, and delivering tailored solicitations including briefing memos and proposals. Manage donor interactions by recording all activities in the database, evaluating giving vehicles, and co-creating regional strategies for network partner engagement. Prioritize collaboration with Executive Leadership, program leads, and food bank members to mobilize external partners for special campaigns while maintaining an inclusive culture.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with best practices for the cultivation of major gifts including developing donor strategies, solicitation approaches and donor stewardship
- Ability to screen prospective donors from lists provided by network members and senior leaders to quickly determine which to direct cultivation efforts toward
- Familiarity with donor relationship management tools and software
- Ability to do first level prospect research using WealthEngine and other tools and to coordinate higher level prospect research with other team members at Feeding America
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff, food bank network member colleagues, volunteers, donors and prospective donors
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be available for an average of 2 days a week in the office (when not travelling for work)
- Must be available for a 30-day 'work anywhere' program during the course of each calendar year
