Job Summary
Manager of Desktop Engineering leads end-user computing platform delivery and modernization efforts across Windows and macOS endpoints and virtual desktop environments. Responsibilities include owning platform stability, patching and lifecycle management, automation and tooling (PowerShell, Intune), implementing security baselines and compliance controls, coordinating OS upgrades and technology rollouts, and collaborating with Information Security, Infrastructure, Networking, and User Support. The role emphasizes cross-functional project delivery, documentation, runbooks, and user readiness, while deploying enterprise AI tooling (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude Enterprise) and advancing endpoint modernization to reduce risk and improve end-user experience. Requires strong leadership, technical ownership of desktop environments, and a track record of enterprise-scale endpoint management and ongoing process improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Seven or more years of experience in desktop engineering, endpoint management, or end user computing roles in an enterprise environment
- Experience supporting OS upgrades, security initiatives, and platform modernization efforts
- Strong troubleshooting skills for complex desktop, application, and deployment issues
- Ability to own complex technical areas and deliver outcomes
- Solid understanding of endpoint security, compliance, and risk considerations
