Job Summary
Lead a team of database administrators by mentoring staff, conducting performance reviews, and defining on-call rotation schedules to ensure 24/7 production coverage. Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle, MS SQL, and PostgreSQL databases across physical, virtualized, and cloud environments while enforcing governance policies and driving automation initiatives. Develop enterprise-level infrastructure strategy, manage disaster recovery procedures including RMAN testing, and provide technical leadership on complex performance tuning and architectural challenges. Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and security teams to implement cohesive solutions aligned with business objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of progressive experience in database administration
- 10+ years focused on Oracle 19c+ administration
- 3+ years of people management or team leadership experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with MS SQL Server 2012+ and PostgreSQL
- Expert-level knowledge of PL/SQL coding, debugging, and query optimization
- Deep expertise in database performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting tools
- Strong background in Linux system administration and bash scripting
- Proven experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud, Azure SQL, and PowerShell scripting
- Demonstrated success in designing and implementing high-availability solutions (clustering, replication, failover strategies)
- Experience with infrastructure design, security best practices, and regulatory compliance (SOC2/ISO27001)
- Background checks are required for employment with insightsoftware, where permitted by country, state/province
