Job Summary
Data science leadership role focused on Capital One Travel Hotels, delivering end-to-end ML-driven features for search, sort, and pricing optimization. Partner with cross-functional teams (data scientists, software engineers, product managers) to translate complex data into actionable business outcomes. Build and operationalize models using Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and related open-source/cloud tools; drive development from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation. Emphasizes customer-first decision-making, creative problem solving, and strong communication to align technical work with business goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related) + 6 years data analytics experience OR
- Master's Degree in a quantitative field or MBA with quantitative concentration + 4 years data analytics OR
- PhD in a quantitative field + 1 year data analytics experience OR
- At least 1 year of experience in open source programming languages for large-scale data analysis OR
- At least 1 year of experience with machine learning OR
- At least 1 year of experience utilizing relational databases
