Job Summary
Lead negotiation of power procurement agreements and manage data center interconnection projects with utilities; evaluate power availability, interconnection options, and regulatory considerations for North America data center developments; collaborate with development, legal, and finance teams on budgets, feasibility, and contract reviews; build relationships with utilities, EPC firms, consultants, and engineering partners while tracking timelines and milestones; drive cost estimates, leadership-ready project reporting, and strategic use of distributed generation or partnerships to optimize power solutions for large-load data center deployments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, applied science, economics, or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience with power procurement, or large-load interconnection projects
- Demonstrated understanding of transmission, substation, and distribution planning processes
- Experience with energy contract negotiations
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
- Familiarity with data center development, interconnection processes, and power market dynamics
- Understanding of ISO/RTO operations, utility tariffs, and regulatory frameworks in key North American markets
- Experience preparing cost estimates, project reports, or presentations for leadership
- Willingness to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools
- Demonstrate sound judgment, creative thinking, and accountability for outcomes
