Job Summary

Manager, Data & AI Strategy leads the delivery of TELUS Digital's Data & AI advisory engagements, owning client relationships and driving outcomes across AI strategy, data governance, operating model design, and enterprise transformation. The role acts as the face of the engagement, directing teams, leading workshops, and guiding clients from problem definition through to actionable strategies and roadmaps. Responsibilities include engaging stakeholders, designing and leading client workshops on AI strategy and governance, translating ambiguous client needs into structured problem statements and deliverables, mentoring junior team members, contributing to practice development through reusable assets, and supporting business development efforts. Technical literacy includes familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), data pipelines, governance concepts, and enterprise data/AI integration (no coding required). The position emphasizes executive advisory, high-quality delivery, and long-term client relationships, with flexible work arrangements to operate remotely in Canada or from Vancouver, BC.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field; Master’s degree is an asset
  • 4–7 years in consulting, focusing on data strategy, AI transformation, and platform modernization
  • Proven ability to lead client-facing workstreams, manage/mentor junior team members, and support RFPs/pre-sales efforts
  • Skilled in structuring ambiguous client problems, leading stakeholder workshops, and translating business drivers (growth, efficiency, risk, CX) into technical data/AI solutions
  • Strong understanding of data management (governance, quality, integration) and AI/analytics concepts (ML, GenAI, LLMs, enterprise deployment)
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with a track record of driving executive alignment and decision-making in fast-paced and ambiguous environments
  • Experience or expertise in at least one of the following: AI strategy and product strategy; Data governance and data management; Operating model design / AI CoEs; Change management for data and AI transformation; Industry expertise (e.g., Telco, Healthcare, Financial Services, CX/BPO)
  • Fluency or proficiency in French is highly desirable but not required
