Manager, Daily Valuation & NAV Accounting

Job Summary

Lead daily valuation and NAV calculations by overseeing financial information, property values, debt positions, and equity adjustments for share-price reporting. Manage client engagements, timelines, and deliverables while coordinating valuation updates, material event analysis, and variance investigations with appraisers and internal teams. Provide technical review and quality oversight for team members, ensuring accurate projections and assumptions before client delivery. Interpret complex financial requests, communicate valuation insights, and lead process improvements to standardize workflows and integrate emerging technologies. Own the growth of the Daily Valuation & NAV Accounting practice, establishing best practices and mentoring analysts to become a recognized subject matter expert.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong accounting background
  • Direct experience supporting NAV calculations or NAV reporting
  • Understanding of how property performance, debt, valuations, and other financial inputs affect NAV and investment reporting
  • Experience with daily valuation, real estate fund accounting, valuation advisory, or commercial real estate valuation
  • Comfort interpreting complex financial information
  • Assessing assumptions
  • Identifying trends and variances
  • Using sound judgment to develop projections and recommendations
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Financial modelling
  • Budgeting
  • Forecasting
  • Variance analysis
  • Ability to review and challenge financial analyses, projections, and valuation-related work
  • Ensuring client deliverables meet a high standard of technical quality
  • Experience with commercial real estate valuation, investment reporting, or financial reporting
  • Worked with accounting or financial systems
  • Interpreting system-generated reports and financial data
  • Experience with platforms such as Yardi, MRI, JD Edwards, or similar systems
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies and how AI, automation, and other tools can improve existing processes
  • Manage multiple client engagements, deadlines, and priorities at the same time
  • Comfort creating plans

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with daily valuation, real estate fund accounting, valuation advisory, or commercial real estate valuation
  • Experience with commercial real estate valuation, investment reporting, or financial reporting
  • Experience with platforms such as Yardi, MRI, JD Edwards, or similar systems
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies and how AI, automation, and other tools can improve existing processes
  • A CPA
  • A certified general state license and/or MAI designation
  • Formal people-management experience
